Attendance

Every Day Counts!

Children are required to attend school regularly and punctually. However, please do not send your child if he/she is unwell. Please inform school on the first day of absence. If we have not heard from you at the close of register then we will seek to establish contact with you as a parent to confirm your child's absence.

It is expected that children will attend all sessions. Any interruption to a child's absence may affect their progress and attainment. Guidelines have been issued to schools to indicate which absences can be authorised and these are usually for unavoidable reasons such as illness. Further details are available in school.

Holidays in term time

Holidays in term time are not permitted. If you wish to take your child on holiday during term time, you need to request permission from the Headteacher. Each request is judged on its own merit.

All holidays in term time are unauthorised. Parents will be fined for taking their child on holiday during term time (if the child is absent for 5 or more days) unless exceptional circumstances can be proven.

A copy of the schools attendance policy can be found below.

We are constantly monitoring our attendance figures and our aim is to reduce absences and lateness to a minimum.  We will therefore publish below, each term our attendance analysis for parents to view and consider.  We appreciate the full co-operation of all parents and carers in reducing these figures.
